Question Shabby Shiek ???

Dear Fellow Ford "Barner's"

I've tryied to use the It's only original "Once" Opinion on my sweetie concerning my old 88 Caddy,,,She " not buying it...Ya the paint look's like crap,,,but I fix all the mechanical's & it run great..

I just can't understand it ?? Why do I get the finger & comment's about getting that Pile off the road ???...On a brighter note the coupe almost done & looks pretty good...I tell her look,,we'll have a new car soon,,,She does like A's,,,so that a plus..

Maybe, but those leisure suits with the high water pants (cuffs 8" above the floor) need to go. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Hey, I got married in a "leisure suit". Must have worked. 35 years later and she still let me get my Model A.

Greg, I thought from your subject line I was going to hear about some poor Arab. As for your 88 Caddy, I'm not sure restoring it would help much. You might still get rude gestures and comments. Unless you were wearing your Elvis suit and gold chains...

Ahh, those were the days! But they were well gone by in the '80's in my neck of the woods.....I never wore one, but I remember Dickies and Ascots too. Another fashion statement that should not have happened....

I'm just glad our period clothing doesn't come from that period!

You really need to get some of those high platform shoes with 2 colors to wear with your leisure suit. Big pimpin.

Thumbs up Re: Shabby Shiek ???

Dear Fashionestia's

My "Leisure Suit" went to the Goodwill year's ago !!!. Now I'am in big trouble wearing Short's year round...As for the Caddy,,When it failed "Smog" last year & I had a new Converter installed...I got in trouble "Again"

You see here in Calif they have this what is called the "Vehicle retirement Plan" Other wise known as the "Crusher" If your car fail's smog & will cost too much to fix it,,,the State will give you $ 1000 to junk it & get it off the road..

So got Hell for not taking the money,,,,I do love the old Caddy, A Smart car pulled up by me at a signal, Hell,,,My hood is longer than that rollerskate...One rather upsetting letter from Cadillac did ask me to remove the Emblem's or at least cover them to protect the Cadillac image..

Back to work on the "A",,as soon as I find my Gold chain !!!
