Default 1953 customline door locks

I need to change the door locks on my 53 two door. I see the clips on the inside edge of the doors but could not budge them. Is there a trick to removing the clips that hold the door locks in?

63 years old - may need a little convincing. They are spring type clips so press down on the sides and squirt some WD40 too.

I removed mine as Blue Dice suggested using WD40 spray well and grip the clips with Vise Grips, then move up and down and pull.
