Default Rumble Seat Cushion fastener

Rumble Seat - Help
I asked this question before, but I did’t get a clear understandable answer?
I have recovered the old spring area and I don’t know how or what mechanism is used to keep the bottom cushion from sliding forward. Can someone explain what device is used and if possible send a photo picture. There are all new floor boards and rumble seat bottom welled in. The back cushion has tabs and they slide in on the top section of the door.

If I remember, there should be two loops coming off the bottom of the seat spring that go into to holes in the floor pan. I'll be working on my car later today so I'll take a look and get a couple of pictures.

I got an answer from an A owner in MAFCA. I can now see and understand my current situation - I have had my rear seat bottom reupholstered spring devices gone and having new floors welded in, I will now have to invent something new.

Here's what it was like. Might give you a idea. I'll try again later. For some reason the pictures won't upload. JP

The bottom spring of the rumble seat cushion SHOULD have two metal loops that stick out from the rest of the spring towards the rear of the spring. One on each side about 1 1/2" long. If you look at the body pan under the seat you SHOULD see 2 holes for these loops. Loops are springy and will press thru the holes to hold the cushion. I use never seeze to lube holes and needle nose pliers to pull them thru from under car. I say SHOULD because cars may have been modified over the years.

I had to really push on the front of my rumble seat bottom in order to get the loops to drop into the holes.

Somebody wallered my holes out. I have been thinking about trying to find rubber grommets to fit in the holes and then the loops in the grommets.

Maybe spot weld some large washers that are the same diameter or a piece of sheet metal and drill the right size hole?
