B head question
I recently purchased a Model B head at an auction. The B is in good comdition. Is it worth my time and effort to change out my A head for the B? Is the compression ratio increase a noticeable performance enhancement? Your thoughts.

Re: B head question
Are you talking a model b head (with a "C" on it)? Or a model a head with a "B" on it?

Re: B head question
My police head with a B stamped on it was TOTALLY worth it! The C head takes a different water pump. IMO I wouldn't use it.

Re: B head question
YES, higher compression wakes the A up!

Re: B head question
its not only the higher compression, but that head breathes better too. The result will please you. I've seen too many used heads that were warped. Its worth it to have the head checked for flatness with a machinists straight edge, or have a machinist skim it slightly to see if it is flat, and if not, have it surfaced. Even a modest warp will cause head gasket leakage.
