1954 Sunliner
I am re-restoring a 54 sunliner. The sun visor brackets on the car wouldn't hold the visors correctly. I thought they must be reversed left to right as were other things I have found. After taking them off I have concluded there is no way they can be installed to work properly. If they were to screw to a roof they would work (swing correctly) but this is a convertible and they screw to the A pillor. So my question, is there a special bracket for sunliner visors? These are probably for a sedan, does a sedan visor bracket screw to the roof? Thanks for any help, new ones are expensive and I want to make sure I got it right before I spend the money.

Re: 1954 Sunliner
As far as I know,. the Sunliner, Victoria and Skyliner sun visors were different from the other sedans. However, I don't know the difference. I have a 54 Victoria and if you can post a picture I can compare it to my Victoria.

Re: 1954 Sunliner
Paul thnaks. Here is the visor I took off the car that will not swing correct,
And this is where they mount on the windshiled frame, this is the right side. there is only one way the three holes will line up and they swing up and down not horizontally. no matter how I manipulate it, I can not get it to work. John |

Re: 1954 Sunliner
John a picture of my visor (54 Victoria). As I mentioned, I believe that the Sunliners, Skyliners and Victorias all used the same visor. However, I can not say positively that is the case. They all used the same windshield, which was different than the other sedans.
There is a web site for 54's ( http://www.1954ford.com ). If you go to the site and ask, they may be better able to help with convertible parts. The visor in my car is 19 1/2 x 4 1/2 Someone with a sunliner should pop in here and either confirm or refute this. Paul Last edited by paul2748; 06-29-2012 at 10:27 AM. |

Re: 1954 Sunliner
The first photo mounts looks identical to the visors in my Ranch Wagon. HRP
