How much is a full set of model a engine stamps worth? Was told that they are original? How hard are they to find? Thanks for your help in advance

Re: Engine stamps
I’ve only seen numbers “as original” not old stock or nos but sure they’re out there. I have a set and the numbers look pretty much the same as original with “A” and star
Seen them for approaching $200 Do a search here on Model A For Sale “engine stamps” Last edited by Oldbluoval; 09-02-2021 at 07:50 AM. |

There's differences in 1931 the 1,6,9-were changed - page 542 of the service bulletins has illustrations

Re: Engine stamps
I think I paid around $150.00 for mine. I just did a search as a friend yesterday said someone borrowed his "star" stamp and didn't bring it back. I ordered one today online and it was $52.00 with shipping for just the one.

Re: Engine stamps
They are advertised in the "Swap Meet" quite often.

Re: Engine stamps
I’d br looking at Hershey, Carlisle or another big swap meet instead of buying retail!

Re: Engine stamps
Actually, many clubs buy them for communal use. How often does one person need them?..

Re: Engine stamps
Even engine rebuilders don't use them that often. The only use for them is when you are trying to match the number on the title.
With these new engine blocks it will become the new normal though.
