Default 91-99 Ford Carburetor

I have a 1939 Flat head in my 32 Ford , 39 tranny , some one installed a Offenhauser Dual Carb intake , with 91-99 Ford carb's , Non Progressive linkage , with a Mallory unlight dizzy (12 v ) @ 600 rpm's , timing set @ 6 deg & total 26 at 2,000rpm,
Plug's autolite 65 gap .030
If it has a bigger cam , it's not a race one ,
What would be a good start on Jeting ( for two carb's )
It seem around 2,800 rpm it bogging ,
I have not open up carbs yet , & power vale ?? Any suggestions will be appreciated and also on timing ,
@2,500 rpm About 55MPH ,
Does anyone now about what Mpg a average would be ,
It has About a G-60 size tire , I want to put the 18 inch rims back on but I was told they will not work with 38-41 juice Brake with out a adaptor ???
Thanks

I would start out with 50 main jets and 3.5 power valves. Your timing specs sound very good.

The hydraulic drums(40 and up) do require something to put the early wire wheels on, the 39 drum while being hydraulic has the wide spacing on the lug nuts.

The jetting doesnt depend on how many carbs your setup has.
You need the carb to give you the correct A/F mixture.
The powervalve is vacuum controlled and that value is set by carbs/cam so has to be adjusted for a multiple/hotter setup.
The suggestions given is a good start and a vacuum gauge is a very good tool for further testing.

The brake drum you pictured is the 46-8 style with the hub on the outside of the drum. The 40-42 has the hub inside the drum. Remember the 36-39 are the wide spacing style of lugs to match their wheels. Yes you will need the adaptors to support the inside of the wire wheels bolt pattern and use any of the 40 thru 48 drums.

Post-War drum like the one pictured often have counterweights that interfere with Ford spoke wheels. Those with the hub inside the drum are therefore preferred for wires. Good Luck: Fred A
