31 five window value
My son found a complete 31 five window coupe that has been sitting out West in dry storage for over 15 years. No rust found but hasn't been run in that time so mechanicals are unknown.
Interior ,glass etc looks great but needs restoration. Any input on value? We appreciate any and all input, thanks |

Re: 31 five window value
We picked up a 31 coupe stalled project this past year.
Deal included a large stash of rebuilt parts. All chrome had been redone etc. No rust ... most of body work completed and primed. Engine said to be rebuilt..... but we rebuilt it anyway. Paid $7000. Considering what we got... ok deal. Northern California car. Gil. NoCal Last edited by Gil Sissons; 09-04-2021 at 04:23 AM. |

Re: 31 five window value
Don't have pictures but my son and I looked all over the car on facetime. I'm in Wisconsin ,he is on the west coast. Try to have him shoot some pictures. Car looks to have been redone in the past as it has 16 inch wheels, mohair interior, and an alternator

Re: 31 five window value
Looks pretty good. If everything is there, $7K would be pretty close to the mark. Good Luck.

Re: 31 five window value
Pictures definitely helpful.... but remember the old rule....
Double your projected budget for the project.... and you will probably come out right on track. Gil. NoCal |

Re: 31 five window value
well the upholstery looks to be a plus, the paint could be shined up but obviously isnt going to be perfect. the assumption is that it runs alright, stops and shifts.
so yeah 7k would be fair. also prob will need new tires at this point. |

Re: 31 five window value
The consensus seems to be $7000, but not my money. Considering restoration costs I would not pay a cent over $5000. I don’t see anything that doesn’t need restoration.

Re: 31 five window value
Mc- you could put 10 of those up for sale here in NJ and all would be gone in a weekend.
rodders would love them at that price. cant find them here for that. |

Re: 31 five window value
I won't try to place a value on any car outside of my area. Where I am I would sell that car, not running, for $8-$10,000. It would most likely go to a street rodder. When guys try to tell me I need to sell the car to them cheaper because of their projected restoration costs I generally just say this is probably not the car for you. Usually I'll get 25 or so lookers, sometimes more with a coupe. I only need one buyer. Rod guys look at them with a different attitude, theirs is, I won't be spending $10,000 on bodywork.
