Houdaille shock pressure
My right rear shock arm on my 41 sedan is angled down some, not in almost horizontal position like others, about 3" down at end by link. I tried to move it back up and it will not move like there is too much pressure. Is there any way to remove pressure to get arm back to where it should be?

Did you disconnect the shock? It look bound up on all the linkage.

Seem to recall from back in my stock car racing days that the shocks could be locked up by rotating this pressure adjustment. Perhaps it needs attention.

Did not disconnect, just jacked car up at frame to connect wire at brake light.

George, now that I've seen a photo of what you have, it's apparent the shock link is defective. I'd suggest you remove the shock and the link. That way you can readily determine if the shock is in good functioning condition as well as replace the link.

As stated, try rotating the pressure adjuster to see if the pressure will release.

That is my next step once I get back into garage this morning.
I have car home this weekend to complete soldering diode to wires from post earlier this week. |
