Default 39 pedals in a 37 pickup

I have 39 pedals in a 37 pickup, and the clutch pedal functions, but does not go to the floor all the way. It hits the x member. Did they change the 39 frame? How do others that have had this deal with it?

Two choices. Head and bend the pedal or cut or scallop out that area on the frame. Keep in mind with the cab on the frame you shouldnt have to push the pedal that far down for the clutch to work.

Your next issue will be the exhaust if you run duals.

I believe the 39 clutch arm that goes onto the transmission cross shaft is not the same as the 37 one which may be part if not all of the alignment problem if you have the 37 trans with the 39 pedal assembly.

The '39 passenger car frame was different in that the area you are talking about received a big dimple for clearance right where yours is probably hitting. I put '39 pedals in my '37 coupe and had a bare '39 coupe frame next to the '37 which allowed me to take measurements for the '39 bracket. Mine will tap the frame but I seemed to be able to make enough adjustment to make it work. I am pretty sure that if you have it mounted correctly it will be close but work.Mine seemed worse when I just had the bare floor ,no rubber mat or pedal stop so it went further than it had to and tapped the frame.
