1937 fuel tank bung thread
The 1937 fuel tank bung was frozen solid with rust and I have had to drill it out then pick the remaining thread out.
Can someone please tell me the details of the bung size and thread used? I assume it is a tapered thread. |

Re: 1937 fuel tank bung thread
Regular us pipe thread either 14" or 3/8". Use liquid teflon when installing new plug. Newc

Thanks Newc, it has 14 TPI so from the American pipe chart it looks to be 1/2" NPT.

Re: 1937 fuel tank bung thread
My June, 1937 Chassis Parts List says the drain plug for the fuel tank assembly 78-9002-B is p/n 353055-S, which is a 1/4"-18 standard pipe plug.

Re: 1937 fuel tank bung thread
It is standard 1/4" NPT. If you get in a pickle we sell replacement bungs and plugs.
