Default Shock Absorbers

Today I cleaned up the shocks on my wife's July 1928 Open Cab Pickup and here is what I see on the covers:

Ford...HOUDAILLE HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION...MADE IN U. S. A.

They also have the designation of "FMC (with a small o in the C).

This was not mentioned in the standards...Should it have been or are these shocks that were remanufactured at the Ford Motor Company?
