Hershey.... Good Information
For everyone coming to Hershey here's some helpful information.
Gas $3.15- 3.65 a gal. Diesel $3.35-3.65. I saw $4.15 at a truck stop. Some Restaurants do not have indoor dining. Some stores close eary,9pm. Weather for the week is improving to just cloudy. Lt. Rain this morning at 6am. Tents were going up as early as Saturday and campers across the street were showing up. |

I will be there friday, I'll look you up and say Hi! If anyone is travelling from south to north, fill up before you hit PA. MD gas is cheaper!

Re: Hershey.... Good Information
Wick I won't be there but I was just curious.
Do you have to pay Pennsylvania State Sales tax on stuff you buy? What is their percentage? Last edited by Jeff/Illinois; 10-04-2021 at 01:08 PM. |

Re: Hershey.... Good Information
State sales tax is 6%. The commies have been clamping down, that may be why some big dealers are only bring show and tell, nothing is for sale.

Sorry just have to make a minor point here. Seems some people feel the state needing money to work is somehow bad. Then complain when a state function does not do their job because they are underfunded. Yes, it is not perfect, but it what we got to live with. Most people do not bother charging taxes. The average guy selling has to get a sales tax permit and submit quarterly sales. Most just make up a number and send some cash to the state as we know 99% really do not keep accurate numbers. The State has a law where all businesses who have a presence in PA have to pay taxes on their full corporate revenue. Or something like that. So a business that shows up for 6 days selling has to report all their income to PA and pay taxes on thier full corp income plus the state they are actualy located. So some out of state companies bring their samples so you can touch and feel. You can then call them on your cell phone and work up an order. They were (not sure if this is true still) then not charging you shipping. In state PA business will sell goods at the show but have to charge sales tax. |

Re: Hershey.... Good Information
This sales tax thingy has been going on for 15 years or so
TN has a law that “one and done” events as such are exempt. Known affectionately as “ Girl Scout cookie law”….. And we are controlled by Republicans alway around …..thank you!! |

Re: Hershey.... Good Information
We'll be set up again this year in the Chocolate Field, CF73 - CF75 (just a couple of vendor spaces up the row from the MAFCA tent) with lots of petroliana, old car clocks, era Model A magazine ads, sales brochures, Model A owners manuals and parts books (many scarce European ones), etc, etc, etc....
Talk to my wife or daughter for the best deals - I don't want to sell any of it! Brad in Maryland heading to Hershey |

Re: Hershey.... Good Information
Today I had no choice but to buy Diesel at Hershey. $3.75 a gallon was the best deal here. $3.99 in Elizabethtown.
