Dash Garnish
Hi guys. I have a 55 Victoria. I just bought some rubber dash garnish. How does it fit on the mouldings. Are the any pictures or videos. Thanks.

Re: Dash Garnish
Turn the metal garnish mouldings upside down. You will see a lip turned down and inward underneath. Now look at your repro rubber strip and match the side of the rubber with that lip. Work the rubber strip onto the bottom of the metal moulding and wrap the opposite end of the rubber strip around at the top. That edge should appear as a bead when it is exposed right side up. Get it ????

Re: Dash Garnish
When I did mine, I was able to do both the left and right side garnish mouldings with the new rubber without cutting the rubber strip in half (where the little center mating piece goes). So mine is continuous, without any cut along the length of the dash.
The trick is, getting the rubber strip to stay on while you are actually trying to install both long pieces, haha. But it can be done with patience and rock-solid willpower to end up with a professional looking job. |
