Good Spark
The 37 has a Skip Haney re-wound coil, fella buy name of Walt DuPont told me about him. Yesterday with the engine idling as smooth as silk I unknowingly put my hand not less than two inches from a plug wire and zzzap, I got a pretty good jolt that sent my arm flying back. Now I would say its a hell of a nice coil.
In the past I'd occasionally get zapped with this same engine before the coil rewind and never felt that much jolt. My 221 loves me for it. Today I'm re installing the grille. Had it chrome plated this past winter, that thing just pops. Happy days are here again fixing up my Henry. |

Re: Good Spark
Leaning against the fender, while getting zapped by a spark plug will start a whole new conversation. By the way my younger brother (61) will still not pick up a condenser that is laying on the workbench.

Re: Good Spark
Good Clean Connections are the key. Good clean connections along with a good firm grasp of the situation.
A Firm but Gentle Touch with plenty of patience works for me with my significant other. But I believe that is another topic all together |

That "other topic altogether," don't forget we old timers need stimulation now a days. I'd bet that if you started a post on it, you'd have hundreds of hits before the administrator could shut it down. And a lot of us stimulated old timers running around not remembering what do do with it, hehe.

Re: Good Spark
A good spark zap is weird fun. I just replaced my terminals with these after getting close to the plug ends once too often:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tay-46083/overview/ Now I can touch the boots and not feel a thing. The wires themselves are in good shape (Packard 440). Better grip on the plugs than what was on there too
