Default Unique trunk or ??

Came across a ‘31 Deluxe Tudor for sale about 20 years ago and it had this unusual ( at least to me ), rear trunk. All original car and in very solid condition…. with this side access - right side door. The trunk interior was very clean and dry for its age. The asking price for the Ford was $7500.00 back then and it seemed more than fair at the time.
Has anyone come across this model or something similar?

Sorry for the mediocre photo quality from the old flip phone camera days.
Thanks in advance for the input.

So the mystery continues……
Now I wish I had taken better close ups and and looked for any additional markings. Perhaps I should have purchased the car……?

Just out of curiosity...what were they asking for the car twenty some odd years ago?

Asking price was $7500.00 for a very solid and complete original - western car. Could have been a barn find, but it was not presented as such. The Ford was sitting outside literally in a field on a remote ranch.
I wonder where it ended up?
