Default Bonneville

Our team is leaving for the Bonneville Salt flats next Tuesday and i was wondering if there is any Ford Barners going? We will be running a streamliner and hope to run faster than 436MPH which is what we did in September. If you are going, travel safe and have a good time.

WHAT! No photo of the liner? We need some details on the car.Go fast, be safe. Bonneville has been on my "Bucket List" for over 50 years now, maybe 2011 is my year.

Here is a couple of pics from last year. We were the fastest car last August and won the Hot Rod Trophy.

Ya Bob. We have a 4 cylinder Dodge for it also. Same as Blowfish. We ran it 2 years. We ran 391 mph with it. And before that we ran a Chevy Cobalt 4 cylinder and ran 352 MPH.
And by the way Blowfish will have a V8 this year.
Will you be there?

Not this year, did it last year, not sure when we'll make time next. It's an experience any performance minded car guy should do though, pictures convey some of the feeling, but nothing like being there.

I thought I remembered seeing the 'liner with the turbo'd Dodge at SEMA but wasn't sure. Thanks for the reminder.

What were the specs for the 46 flathead? I'm assuming it was a Ford Flathead V8?

Ya Flathead. It was a 59AB flathead block. As for the specs. i couldnt say as i was not in on the engine builds and came on the team later when the chevy 4 banger was installed. I tried to show a picture of the various flatheads used but again the pixels are to big. i will see if i can correct this. Mark.

Wow, you go from 436 mph in a streamliner to 45 mph in a model a lol there's a big gap there. There wouldn't happen to be a passenger seat in the stream liner would there ?

If you are using windows OS you can use the "paint" software function to reduce the size of pictures. There are others that folks will suggest, but for PC systems Paint is already on the computer. If you want instruction let me know, be glad to help.

Bonneville is on my bucket list & Faye & I are leaving next Wednesday. 1st stop, Austin, NV for a kickoff party with the Alviso Roadsters on Thursday, my 67th birthday, then on to West Wendover on Friday to arrive at The Nugget for the parties. I have been building Faye for the last 4 months with the help of 3 good friends & ongoing advice from members of the Bay Area Roadsters. They have several members racing, everything from vintage motorcycles to steamliners. I was asked to use Faye as a push vehicle for one of the motorcycle powered streamliners & I jumped at the chance.
Look for the primered '31 Deluxe Phaeton with a picture of Faye on the back.
1 bucket list item down, several more to come!!!!

Hey Flathead. Check this site. It has enfo on the flathead motor that you were asking about, when the car was called Flatfire. Now called "Speeddemon".
