Fish Carb Whats The Story On These ?
This made me remember my high school, auto shop teacher, he had one and was very proud of it, kept it in a locked cabnet. Anyone here know anything about them ?

You need to google and study the entire deal. I have ran one on a couple cars and they really run very well. I have one laying around just like pictured and a fish manual as well. Neat concept , no power valve, no acell pump and they ran really good..

A fellow "Barner", Glenn McGlone (spelling) has run Fish carbs. on a '37 TuDor Sedan dirt track racer for years. I haven't seen or been in contact with Glenn for several years. Mike Burch may chime in here ad have some additional info on the Fish carb and Glenn.

Re: Fish Carb Whats The Story On These ?
Yes they would have to be, no choke, no accel pumps and no power valves. Fuel is metered thru the throttle shaft based on engine load . Nothing other than a gasket here and there , everything is pretty straight forward.....

Re: Fish Carb Whats The Story On These ?
The FISH carburetor was not a bad carburetor, it just didn't deliver all the hype that came out when it was marketed.
Basically, the fuel was measured out, by the action of a slider, against an inclined plane. They were built in Daytona Beach. MIKE (mikeburch) |
