Re: Killin time with Covid 19 and JC Whitney
We didn't need that cheap stuff.
We had Repco parts. Repco built the engine that won the 1966 formula one against Ferrari for a fraction of what Ford spent on some little French back street race track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNfq310iOTI It did use the alloy Oldsmobile block rejected by Shelby. |

Yup, that was when we stuff in this country. I'm hoping those days will return after this Chinese disease subsides.

Re: Killin time with Covid 19 and JC Whitney
When I got my first Model A in 1966, I ordered parts from Warshawsky. I eventually got a JC Whitney catalog but felt a loyalty to Warshawsky. At first I thought that they might be the same company.
For those of you from or familiar with Milwaukee, I also got parts at B.S. Wisniewski's. I knew his granddaughter so he would give me a deal at times. A few pennies less. Once he took me up on the freight elevator to a floor that was all Model A parts. He showed me NOS front fenders still wrapped in kraft paper. Oh to go on that tour now... |

Re: Killin time with Covid 19 and JC Whitney
While clearing out a relatives garage, I came across a JC Whitney Everbend tail pipe. The tail pipe is 8 1/2 feet long and has ribs in it. This brought back memories of buying from JC Whitney, in my younger days, for a model A pickup. I remember having to wait a week and half or 2 weeks for the order to be delivered - a lot different than today!

That $23 is about $180 in 2020 dollars. For comparison, Snyder sells the 3:78 set for $450. |
