Recommendations for glass setting tape?
I looked at some of the older posts but didn't see much for glass tape info. I'm going to re-glaze my '38 windshield later this fall and I want to have all the parts on hand. I used the rubber/cork tape the first time and I assume that's the way to go. I see large rolls for sale on the auction site but I cant find much else. Anybody have a favorite supplier? Thanks.

Re: Recommendations for glass setting tape?
I had the glass come out of the channel on my brand "C" car recently. I couldn't find setting tape locally so I used 3 or 4 layers of Gorilla Tape. It went together nicely and is holding up. After I got it back together, I picked up a roll of the right stuff in case it goes south again. The new stuff I got doesn't appear to have any cork in it.

Re: Recommendations for glass setting tape?
When I did my vent window I bought a roll from Drake, I measured the thickness of the glass and the width of the channel and bought the thickness that filled that distance when doubled over.

Re: Recommendations for glass setting tape?
Snyders has it also. Good point about it comes in various thickness so the width of the channel, and glass need to be taken into account before ordering the tape. When it is installed, you use motor oil, which eases the assembly and expands the tape.

I prefer to use liquid soap to lubricate.
