Default banjo steering wheel

Will the horn be lost if installing a 39 banjo steering wheel on a 40 Ford?

If you use the complete 39 horn rod, you need to change the lower plate on the steering box to a 37 to 39 or the horn rod wont fit

You have to use the '39 column with the '39 banjo. The '39 banjo will not fit the '40 column that has the column shifter.

I wanted to put a column shift in my '38 coupe. If you put a banjo wheel against the top of a '40 column you will quickly see that it will look goofy. I didn't install the '40 column to see if it would actually allow the banjo wheel to be installed, but I wasn't ready to sacrifice my banjo and original light switch for the column shift.
