Default MAFCA shipping

Just went to order Model A Christmas (yes, it's coming !) cards. Thought it would be cool this year. But disturbed by the 10.95 shipping charge (cards were 14.95 !). Too much.

Guess I'll rely on the wife's big assortment or visit the dollar store instead.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to whom I was going to send one .

My wife said that rather than buy the MAFCA cards, she would make her own, using a picture that she would take of OUR Model A!

Whoa! More personal and less expensive to make your own - featuring YOUR Model A!

Dollar Store or home made...yes.
The MAFCA shipping charges are out of line and have to be hurting sales.

Simple solution, just DON'T buy MAFCA cards.
Most Folks say, "Oh, that's nice" & TOSS THEM OUT!

I have made the photo Christmas cards in the past. I took a photo of my wife and me next to our Model A. Then went to one of the photo websites where you can make photo books, prints, calendars, etc. There are pre-made designs where you can insert your photo and put in whatever text you want to use. It worked well for us and we got a lot of nice comments regarding the car also.

We had someone take our picture with our families surrounding the car and my 93yo Mom in the driver's seat. Then we changed the pic to Black & White and got all our cards made on one of those photo websites. It was fast, easy, inexpensive, and worked out great.

I know what you mean Paul. We used to order the cards they were kind of neat and to kind of help the club too. But the S&H has gotten too high so we've stopped altogether now.

Sorry MAFCA that was a 'business' decision nothing personal

On a side note, I saw a nice 'Ford Muscle Cars, 1961-1973' book at Barnes & Noble but at $45 plus tax I shied away from buying it. I came home and looked at Amazon and the same book was $14 plus free shipping (if you spent $25) and no tax. So I got a DVD of Smokey and the Bandit and Gone in 60 Seconds (the 1974 Tony Hallicki flick it's a lot better than the one they made with Nicholas Cage) to make it a $25 order.

The next day (yesterday) Burt Reynolds died. Nicholas Cage better watch out Tony Hallicki was killed years ago........

So again, sorry B&N

I have my Old Pentax, 35 MM camera loaded with BLACK/WHITE film, but never took any pics, I don't "think" anyone develops film, anymore???

Not sure if they still do, last I had developed was at Wallgreens. Think I also took some negatives in for copies.

On the back of the flyer advertising the Christmas Cards, my wife spotted an item that she wanted. Went to their website to order it. Surprise! It wasn’t there. So this morning I called them. Surprise! “No one is available to take your call, please call back later.”

So much for Member Service.
