The Cigar City Flatheads fun continued today in the garage. In attendance for 'play time' were Mike, Keith, Don, Tom and Joe. We were continuing the work on Joe's '48 Merc's heart transplant... Mike and Keith worked on honing the cylinders, to clean them up in preparation for the installation of new pistons, etc., while I assumed my usual position of supervisor... As is our custom, we headed over to the deli for PIZZA after all the prep work was completed... Next Saturday we will reassemble the Merc's Flathead and get her back on the road again... Sorry, no photos were allowed in the OR... But, here's the crew enjoying lunch, from left, Joe, Mike, Keith and Tom . Thanks as always to the guys for coming out to play. See ya next Saturday.

Plain Cheese pizza or pepperoni only is an arrestable offense in most states!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I respectfully disagree Bruce, pepperoni is the only embellishment a cheese PIZZA needs... anything else is overkill... LOL

Vic:
Here is a marketing idea for the deli where the pizza comes from.
( D - D - D - D > DRUM ROLL HERE )
Make a CIGAR CITY FLATHEAD Pizza.

MAIN ingredient - - - - a whole lot of HAM - - - -

Ok, I just got word that the Walk to Defeat ALS link I posted earlier, will stay up to take donations so, if you and/or your local club and/or regional chapter haven't donated yet, please do. Thanks.

Once again we had big fun in the garage. A bunch of the Cigar City Flatheads came over to play. We (mostly Mike), are putting Joe's '48 Merc Flathead back together. Here are a few photos of the fun. Caption for the first photo "How many Cigar City Flatheads does it take to remove a radiator cap?" Next two photos are Mike & Keith working on the heads and intake manifold installation. Next is part of the crew discussing all things Flathead. And last, but not least, What goes well with PIZZA...

We are expecting to finish up the work on the '48 Merc Convertible tomorrow, so we can get the car back to Joe in Sarasota. Like most things, when it comes to working on old cars... Very seldom do things go as planed... It's safe to say that things always take longer then expected however, it's the end result that counts.
