B-O-B, I've had some of my most learned conversations with myself... It sounds like you had more fun in the motor pool then I did...

Hey Vic, sorry I missed the fun this weekend. I had to wrestle some cabinets into one of my rental homes. The thrill is gone from fixing up houses. I can think of other things I'd rather do. More specifically work on old cars. See you soon!

Mike & Steve,

As you both know, there is no shortage of work/fun here in the garage no matter whose vehicle we work on, and you guys are always welcome to come and play. Another good thing is, the Deli never runs out of Pizza...!!! See you soon.

This is somewhat off topic but not totally... We finally have the "Studebaker" wood (the pine was originally used as post & beam construction in a Studebaker assembly plant built in 1903, the finish coat was still wet when I took the photo) installed and "finished" in the game room on the house...

to keep it Ford related, my wife and I took the '39 LZ for a ride, to get ice cream at the local DQ, in celebration of getting another step closer to being able to actually move in... and live in the house... what a concept!

Vic,
Keeping this car related , one time down there I think we were going to the Gartlit (spelling ) Museum. We were in the 39 LZ and you were saying that you were going to having the Studebaker logo in the middle of the floor were you able to do that ??

Bill, Yes, I was going to have the Studebaker "lazy S" logo done as an inlay, using the walnut wood that is on the perimeter however, when I got the quote, (after the initial shock wore off... had to do that for you), I opted not to have it done. The price they gave me for the inlay was $5,000.00. I told them I'd rather buy another Studebaker with that money... Plan "B" is to have a logo cut out of stainless steel and hang it on a wall...

Tom, I've got a “certificate of authenticity” as a well as a document showing a photo of the factory in 1936 with new Studebakers coming off the assembly line. I will have that framed and I'll hang it in the room. Thanks for the complement, I think the floor turned out really nice. Now, I can't wait to get the bar, etc. built.

Vic,
Your Coke machine says 10 cents. I remember when the machines said 5 cents. Are you price-gouging in your garage?
John

Vic the floor just floored me. heh heh he I sorry I couldn't hep me self.
How come your bride keeps getting better looking & you ? I best not say.
Only thing youse needed on your cruise to the DQ in the Lincoln flatty was to take in a drive in movie. How kool would that have been???
We just got back from AZ & I got all 3 ( 32roadster,34/5W & 57 bird) fords & two OT trucks running. That sta-bil & MMO sure does work great for storing a car for a spell. Everyone started right up.

10 cents is a lot better than ship board prices. How does $2.75 Aussie strike you? The LZ look good with Sherry behind the wheel.

B-O-B, Thanks, I really like the way the floor turned out. As for me, I told my daughter, when she was much younger, that I couldn't wait for tomorrow, because I get better looking every day.. her response was "you better hope you have a lot of tomorrows..." I've learned that standing beside beautiful women and beautiful cars makes me look a lot better...

We're still on vacation. About half way through. Currently headed for Port Douglas. I've only seen one semi-barn related vehicle so far. That was a nicely hot rodded '37 Bedford flatbed in Devonport Taz. It would be a real conversation piece in the states.
