If I have not commented already, leave it as is. No one will ever bother it but notice it more than any 1000 pt restoration at every car show!

My vote is to take it completely apart, mechanically refurbish where necessary, replace wiring with a proper reproduction, replace seals, gaskets and body mount rubbers and welting. Repair any popped stitches in the interior as required, remove and dry clean any textiles and reinstall over new batting. Paint nothing but instead clean, polish and wax everything. Reassemble in your usual careful manner as if competing in the Preservation Class at Pebble Beach with a Full Classic. Best of both worlds. You get to be yourself, and so does the car.

Well guys, the results are final. I thank all that participated.
As I'd promised in post #25, I shall do what you folks voted for, that is, keep the patina.
Quite a landslide methinks.

Stay tuned

Nothing better than a nice original unrestored vehicle. Only original once.
Make it mechanically sound, safe and drive it!

Kube good choice. You will be amazed how people will gather around that nice original '36.
