Oh! That is a pretty one. 4 speed? I called the help line, no answer, no help. No worries though. I think it's the Crager's that do it to me. May be I need a set for the Courier. I won't be going to brand X in my future.

Chuck, the '57 Chevy and the late model Corvette snuck in when I wasn't looking... I had wanted all non Ford products to park in the street... LOL

As far as Chevy’s go, I’d love to find a ’58 Impala Convertible, 348 with tri-power and a three speed with O/D or a ’58 Vette… I’d actually make room in the garage for each of those…

John, you forget that I have to turn the apartment (in the garage, where we are living at the moment) back into garage space once I get the CO for the house... that'll give me room for four more cars... So, the two '58 Chevy's would fit... Keep in mind that the "Corvette" would be for my wife... not me... However, I'd much rather make that space available for a '39 Merc Convertible and a '42 -'48 Ford Woody...

Doesn't Vic have something British that doesn't run taking up space? That one probably has to stay for sentimental purposes.

I really don't get much heart-bump from 99.9% of the '57 Chebys I see, but I do really like Cragar SS wheels.

Jeff, I agree with you about the Chevy's! When I was in High School (late '60's) almost every kid in school drove a '55,'56,'57 Chevy... None of them had a '58 Impala rag top though... The car in your photo (Jaguar XKE Roadster) was purchased new in '68 by my dad, its the first car I ever drove over 120 mph, it also attracted a lot of good lookin' High School girls and I needed all the help I could get in that regard...LOL

Now that the Zephyr is once again motivating under its own power, it's time to turn our attention back to the '51 F-1. I've had a number of issues with the F-1 but the transmission has been to source of much aggravation so, I have a rebuilt '49 Merc transmission with O/D that I want to install in the '51. Also, we need to do some work on Mike's '41 Business Coupe. Maybe this weekend we'll get a chance to play with both the F-1 & the '41... We'll see.

The F-1 with that trans should be quite the highway burner. I may need to do something like that to the Courier.

It's funny that the tri 5 Chevys were so popular. Your right, everybody had them. The '58 was like the ugly step child. I only remember one. A gold Biscayne. I was the hick from the sticks - '57 F100.

Chuck, about six months after I bought my first car ('48 Ford TuDor Sedan in '65) I saw a '58 Impala Convertible in a used car lot. The car was painted what I would call a kind of root beer metallic with the same rainbow shades on the upholstery and a tan top. She had a 348 with Tri-Power, three speed with O/D, twin spot lights (the kind that came through the top of the fenders), skirts and a continental kit. The asking price was $800.00 (I had just paid $100.00 for the '48). I took my dad up to see the Chevy (because I needed him to front me the cash) and, much to my chagrin... he said no!

Update for B-O-B, I took your suggestion and put some "Restorer" in the Zephyr's crankcase this past Monday. I must say, I've already noticed a difference in the way the Zephyr runs & drives (more power in 2nd gear) smoother & quieter and smaller “gift” deposits on the garage floor... Thanks for the tip!

B-O-B, my Brother-in -Law recently bought a '62 Corvette, I haven't seen it yet but I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel and taking it for a ride. My wife wants a '58 and a Stingray, '63 to '67 however, I'd like the T-Bird if I could afford it... Will you let me make monthly payments… say $100.00 a month…???

OMG!!! This needs to go to a new page to get rid of the Chebys. I think Vic is more affected than I am. We need to get some Cragers fitted on a Ford, like now. Maybe on that red '49 or a '57 Fairlane two door hardtop.

I've got a set of Cragar SS wheels on our '63 Studebaker Avanti... Don't like the way they look on Fat Fendered Fords.
