Well, met JM, Geezer at different times and saw Chris' car at a filling station, but did not get to meet him. Guess we were so excited about meeting each other to put a face on an Fordbarn poster, I don't think anyone took any pictures. Here's a pic of my truck loaded with scooters out on the salt.

Bonneville was awesome! It's difficult to imagine what goes on there until you actually experience it yourself. Walking around the pits seeing all the cars up close, talking to the drivers and their crew, then watching them run down the course was all good. They did disappear quickly! I met Uncle Max, Elmo Rodge (Wayno), 36tbird, Lawrie and his family from Australia, Chris and some others who I can't recall right now. I have well over a hundred pictures that I will either post here or maybe on a photo hosting website. After spending three and a half days on the Salt Flats I can easily see how that can get in your blood. After a day of being a spectator, I started thinking....gee, I wonder what it would be like to drive one of these cars down the course at about 200+ mph or maybe build one of my '35's to see what it would run
It's fun to dream . I do hope to make a return trip if I ever get my hot rod finished.PS...Uncle Max had the coolest (Navaro?) 8 barrel Stromberg setup that I have ever seen.

John, I wish we could have had a chance to talk. As I recall, you introduced yourself at a very busy moment and I was hoping you would come back later. I ended up running 137 mph with a mild Flathead the wouldn't spin faster than 4,000 rpm. This week wasn't about speed but about sorting a new car out. I am very pleased. Wayno

. Lawrie said he saw you one of those two days. Those pits seemed to be over a mile long . Once CRS set in, I couldn't remember where I had seen you. We were up at the starting line at Course 1 on Tuesday watching George Poteet run his Stream Liner and heard your name announced to run at Course 3 or 4 but didn't hear your time/speed. I looked up all the results last night on one of the websites and saw two or three of your runs with speeds listed. Sounds like you got that head gasket problem sorted out and ran good after that. Will see you the next time

John, awesome pics - although I've been to B-ville, it was not during speed week. It's on my bucket list but I will only go if I drive my hot rod out there. To me, if I did not have my car out there, I'd be kicking myself for not having it and I would not enjoy it.
Can you say road trip? Earl is all ready to go whenever I get my car straightened out and/or it could also be in my 40 p-up which will have AC - ....
