I have had good luck with all my USPS carriers and with the staff that work the windows in the main post office. I know my delivery guy's name and he's a good guy. The mistakes are usually in the main distribution centers and not at the local P.O. I think it may be hard to get good dependable/responsible people to actually work these days.

well over here its not much better but my prefered carrier is USPS for deliveries from the states and Aus post for internal .Better predicable service at lower cost .Freight charges have just become a real crap shoot with private/3rd party carriers .Recently refused a purchase due to freight costs ended up finding the item here at usdx2 but when the freight charges where said and done the total cost at my door was 2/3 the cost of the US item not bad for something 1/2 the size of a shoebox and less than 2lbs in weight

I've had the same carrier here in Santa Cruz, CA for years. He always takes a moment to stop and chat about projects in the shop. When he was on vacation a small package was supposedly delivered, and wasn't. I called the local Post Office and the Postmaster answered himself -- on the second ring -- and tracked it down. I love these guys and gift generously at Christmas.
