That's a beer advertising truck, alright, with what appears to be a powerful sound system. Here's a larger image. Blatz resumed brewing beer in 1933, after the 21st Amendment was ratified. I wonder whether this truck was created in 1933, on a 1931 pickup chassis, to proclaim the event? Note the custom paint job (light fenders) and, despite the extreme customization, whitewall tires.

Let's take a brief detour to Denmark to see a sharp rig with disc wheels and bright headlamps and radiator shell.

The Model A in this picture and the original photo are from Switzerland (not Denmark). Both this photo and the vehicle belong to Marcus Maurer! He states that the truck was made by a Swiss company Peter & Co AG from Liestal who made the wheelbase enlargement (which is 30 cm longer than original). Wilhelm Frey Wagenbau, also from Liestal, made the wooden cabin and also the bed. More information on this truck and it's restoration can be found on Marcus' web site at the following link: http://www.maurer-markus.ch/ford_a/f..._daten.en.html Here is another photo from his web site with the truck before he started restoring it: ![]() Fordially, Brad in Germany |

If I recall correctly, some of our NZ friends recently recreated the scene posted by Pat in Santa Cruz. Perhaps someone will post?

In the meantime, here's another unusual body style. A "Safari Wagon" in Africa.

Taken in the 60's out back of the Ford garage that had owned it since 1928, They stopped using it in 1952. Sitting in my barn now.
