I hate em too! Anything past the 1970's. How close can you get to nothing and still call it something seems to be the "name of the game".

Had to get the drums turned to fit the new shoes. Apparently, the aftermarket adds more material to the shoe to compinsate for the wear on the drums. Never again will I work on new cars, pre computer age only.

i never heard of that
other than giving the drums a normal couple thousands or so resurfacing that i do on any brake job which would also clean up the ridge at the edge of the drum. would have bought different brand or went with oem
