This year at the Gilmore car museum they are featuring the history of stock cars.Every year they feature a different venue, last year it was drag racing,it was a fairly good example of drag cars.I'm going down next weekend for the swap meet and to check out the vintage stock cars.

I had a red 49 Ford pickup with a hook on the dash. We would race it in the spectators race at Westboro, Ma. speedway oval track around 1964. Some guy's would race brand new cars in that race. We all wanted to see them bend a fender or even worse. Tons of fun then, but now I would settle for a nice seat in the stands. Chet/Ma.

TJ.
The thought of a 34 3 window stock car brings back many memories.
Drove a 34 3 window in Full Modified Class way back in the 50's. We used a 59AB block and built from there. My car owner gave me a car that won more than it's share on the midwest dirt tracks. Where did you race?
Still must have 100 or more old 94 carbs. Our 34 used 4 of them.

Here's my '40 Ford I resurected in the late 90's. It had a 286 with 2 pots.
Our Vintage Race Car Club raced at many central MN. tracks. Cars had to
be 1948 and older, with solid axle front end yet.
We had about 50 members from 3 upper midwest states.

Some raced a little too hard, as we had 3 rollovers, and quite a few
pileups over the 5 years I raced with the club.
