Try a few easy fixes first.
I have never been a believer in anything that I could pour into a car having any real effectiveness...BUT...I had stalling on stops a few months ago and tried pouring a fuel system and valve cleaner into the half full gas tank. The problem stopped after driving about 25 miles and has not come back. |

I also posted about this issue a couple months back and realized I said I would give an update. It's fixed. Two - maybe 3 factors in play to fix the issue.
1. Engine has a hi comp head, B cam & 0.100 overbore. May want a slightly richer mix in general, but not a huge difference. 2. Float needed adjusting. Changed out float valve as well just in case. 3. Self inflicted - I miss-adjusted idle earlier making problem worse. Despite this being our third Model A in the past 25 years or so, idle adjustment on our other prewar cars - heck most anything idle adjustment I have done before are opposite. Sharing in case others do the same thing. Car idles well and level or bottom of a hill stops ⁶don't present any issues. Now on to the next thing!

I knew I didn’t have a vacuum leak. My stalling was cured by turning the air screw in on the carb. I did a little at a time and found a sweet spot. Had to tweek on the idle speed at the same time. Problem solved.
