Re: 1950 Ford sedan seat too far forward
I added 3/4 inch spacers to the front bolts tilting the seat back. Helped a bunch.

Re: 1950 Ford sedan seat too far forward
I’m late seeing this thread, if I remember Correctly you need to remove the bolts that hold the back of the seat on and insert the pins in first, then lean the back forward till the bolt will go back in. It’s been about 7 years since I had mine out but that’s what I remember.

Re: 1950 Ford sedan seat too far forward
Thanks Greg, your memory is spot on, that is exactly how I did it, and what difference.
I do not know how the previous owner drove the car how it was, I can drive the car now though I am still going to follow Joes example and set the whole seat back another two inches with adaptor plates. It should them be about right for comfortable long distance driving. Geoff |

Re: 1950 Ford sedan seat too far forward
take a look from under neath had similar problems but while looking at something else found that the floor was double drilled and plated . There was a second set of holes waiting to be used about 1" to the rear of the set in use WHAT A DIFFERANCE with 1/2" spacer under the front and an 1" under the rear like you i am 6' and 120kg not big but no jockey

Re: 1950 Ford sedan seat too far forward
Thanks for sharing Joe B. The seat in my '38 is a bit close for me and I'll be using that idea to move it back a few inches.
Geoff, glad you got an answer and figured out your issue. Pat |
