"Squish" problems

I am going to do the grease thing. I really don't like the idea of more surfaces needing sealing on an engine that already leaks! It looked like a simple fix, so I just thought I'd run it by the folks here. They don't give a price for the shims on their website, so I'll bet they're pretty expensive.
