Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
I’ve attempted to insert the pictures of the heater I have. I’m a little new to this so I hope you can view them without problems.
Thank you! Frank |

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
FwJ1941: That heater is not a 41. Sorry.
40larry: Do you still restore heaters? Do you have any for a 1941 pickup? Do you have any of the accessories for one. Such as the switch or anything? Mike |

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
You may be correct! I bought the 41 Pickup in Nebraska in July and it was removed from it.
It may have been installed by a previous owner and I just can’t verify I if is indeed an official Ford product. It’s not my intent to defraud anyone and I appreciate your input. Thank you! Frank |

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
38 coupe, Thanks! I agree as the 41 I purchased was from central Nebraska and was reportedly a work truck on a ranch / farm where it’s bitterly cold. Warmth was paramount! So having said that, I’ll still offer the heater “For Sale” as is. Just shoot me a reasonable offer and we can go from there. On my 41, I’ve decided to go the restomod route as that’s my reason to sell the heater. If someone out there can use it’ll afford me an opportunity to clear one of many parts.

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
That's the same unit in my '46 Tudor. Most heaters were dealer installed options and thus were widely varied in practice.
The 'Ford' script freash air heater was also found in many 48-50 F series trucks..

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
I've found that there is a difference between the control switches.
The first and obvious one is the color. I've seen about four different colors. There was Grey, and Cream. There where also some variation in the tone of the colors. A whiteish cream and a whiteish grey. The next difference was in the lettering of them. One is: Defrost - Off - Heat. The other is: Indirect - Off - Direct. All of them are listed as 1940 to 1948. They all had the lettering in Red. I'm also having trouble finding a One Hole mounting bracket. I've seen a few Two Hole ones. All of this information came from the "bay". Not the most reliable of sources. Any guidance would be appreciated. Mike |

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
My 40/41 Fire truck has a 39/40 heater installed in it; looks original. I have a 39/40 heater listed $175. Use the SEARCH this Forum icon. Newc

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
I get wanting to have the original heater but in my case after seeing one for the first time , I'm glad my 41 came with a nice period correct aftermarket one. It's a cast artdeco case with chrome trim and a defroster control. It's smaller then the original and in that little cab , space is at a premium. Stock is good but not always the best unless your being judged. Tim

Re: 1941 PickUp Cab Heater
Newc: The 39/40 heater is a two door style. The 41 is the first year of the three door style. I could use a 39/40, but why would I when I can find a 41?
pistonbroke: I don't disagree with your comment about "period correct" versus other options. I'm a bit of a stickler for correct is correct and there isn't any other way. If you ask my employees, they'll verify that if I'm off by 0.015" on a set up, that needs to be tweaked to within 0.005". My cross to bear. Mike |
