The overdrive had a 4:11 rear in 49-51. If that held true for later years then you may have a lower gear than you should have for a standard trans. My GPS indicated on a drive from Erie PA to Auburn, Ma that I averaged 66mph while moving. Not bad considering a stop in Albany. This was with a 3:78 and overdrive.
