Re: My new Model A pickup
Hope you are planning to drive this truck to the Fiddleheads show in April. Should be good to pull trailer for your hillclimb car.

Richard
Don't think it will be done by then. The hill climb is at Spindale NC this year. But it is a good idea, may be next time. |

Re: My new Model A pickup
I confess to be something of a purist but I LIKE the way this one is shaping up.
would not mind having something similar; hope to see it in person sometime.....

I like hot rods, but I also like stock Model A's. I always use original parts when ever I find them. Also like the engine number to match the frame. All my original cars have the engine they were born with. I also would not cut up a good car. This truck will have a lot of original parts. Most folks would not want the parts that are going to be used. The engine cylinders were rusted bad, it took .188 to clean up. My goal is to build it as cheap as possible. Yes it will most likely be at a hill climb one day. If it does it will have a hot 4 cylinder. |

Re: My new Model A pickup
Bill this engine and transmission have factory float-A- motors. That should make it a nice smooth truck.

Re: My new Model A pickup
I have a couple. Does not show the Lincoln rear axle, but that is what it is. Had to shorten the torque tube and drive shaft.

Re: My new Model A pickup
I'm referring to the red spots on the back of the cab.

Re: My new Model A pickup
Yes I did, maybe it was not a good idea. It had some bad rust Pitts from laying on it side for years, before it went to the barn. The gas tank was about half full of mud from laying on it's side. As luck would have it, I had a better tank.

Re: My new Model A pickup
No one should be using that material anymore. It swells from whatever you put on top of it and it will shrink as it dries out. It causes sand swell scratches to occur after its painted. There are 2K finishing putties that you should use and throw that stuff away
