If you look at the front of the whole thing you will see a ring in the center, which is the carrier.Find a socket that is the same size or a little smaller than the outside of the carrier lip.Open a vise wide enough to hang the carrier down through, with the bearing resting on the top.Don't tighten the vise, just let the carrier hang free. Then knock the carrier down through the bearing with the socket. That lip is sorta fragile, you really don't want to try pounding it out with a punch. It will distort it and make it hard to slide on the tube after.

I believe you'll find the bearing is only tight on the collar for the last 1/2" or so, and I've removed them with a few light taps from a hammer while holding the collar in my left hand. I've also removed them as Keith said.

Bratton's carry a Federal Mogul throw out bearing. They are made in Mexico, but they are good quality.
