Default Replacing Headgasket Question

I am helping a friend replace the headgasket on his Model A. He purchased a gasket set that contained a copper headgasket. I am not sure what type of sealant/gasket prep is recommended. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

Thanks Ron

I had used the Permatex Copper Spray on a Farmall tractor with success. I just wasn't sure about a Model A.

Thanks

Bob

Copper coat spray or even aluminum spray paint works good.

I've even heard of success with a light coat of regular spray paint.

This might sound like a dumb question but do you spray the block with it or just the head gasket on both sides before you put it on the block?

Just the gasket, both sides of the gasket.
