Default 386 Supper Cam

I just picked up a reground 8BA cam, (casting no. in the middle 8BA 625O ) on the front is stamped (386 supper) I mic the lobes .312 lift, the top of the lobes are kind of flat, not as much as I've seen some wild cams. This cam has never been run since regrind. This cam was reground long ago and this gye has had it many years in a box. This is all the info I have on the cam. What do you suppose the 386 means? Thanks Walt

At that lift and with flat top lobes it may be a circle track "cheater" grind.
They were designed to show stock numbers when degreed in the engine but have a higher rate of lift for more go without being caught cheating.
You will have to degree it to really know.

Not sure about the 386 but out here on the West coast we say "breakfast" "lunch" "dinner" and someplaces East of the Rockies they say "breakfast" "dinner" "supper" so it might have something to do with where it was ground. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Hey Walt

Do think Ol' Ron could be right by that 386 Cam being a stump puller?

Sure would like to see that put to work.

Ron

I thought you and somebody else built an engine and the engine was going to be auctioned. Did this happen? Where was the auction and what was the result?

Thanks (but not in advance)
