Re: another pic
That's looks like it is flat, but not V8. I've seen some old Fords with that many wires to hold the fenders on.

Re: another pic
That guitar is 40yr's old, it's a a 1972 Martin D35. I've had it for 40yr's and beat the hell out of it. I just had it rebuilt just like an old car, a new top and all refinished. It's just like new and sound and plays like new. It cost $3100.00 to replace it. Walt

Re: another pic
Nice Walt. Although I'm primarily a double bass and bass guitar player, I do have a Tacoma Chief flat top that I play some country stuff on.
If I may digress a little..... when I was in the US in 2005 i got invited to a weekly jam out in the sticks north of OKC. Big old house in the middle of nowhere, good old boy made a HUGE pot of chicken, mushrooms and okra (sp?), then all these folks rolled up and hauled out guitars, mandolins, fiddles, a banjo, and I played bass guitar. We had an awesome evening eating and playing Hank, Merle and Bob Wills tunes. When we had a break I went outside and saw a 39 Ford pickemup parked outside. Perfect. American hospitality is just awesome! |

Re: another pic
I was going to send it to Martin but thay wanted over $1400.00 the restore it. A friend of mine that used to be in my band, (plays dog house bass) is one of those clever guys that can do anything. He started building insterments, flathead tops, mandolins, banjos, dobrougs, about 10-12 yr's ago, beautifull jobs , mother of perl, all inlaid, beautifull work. He sells them for big money and fixes old instursments. That special wood on the top comes from Alaska. Walt
