Default lubricant Middle of torque tube ??

What kind of grease/lubricant is supposed to be injected into the bearing in the middle of the torque tube ??

4 or 5 shots of chassis grease every year or so depending on how many miles driven. G.M.

Operators Manual says same as other grease fittings every 1,000 miles. That's what I do.

The guys who had the '48 rear I disassembled must have been looking for grease to come out of the air cleaner when they lubed that fitting! What a mess!
