Amazing what you can do with good shocks.

That looks like some of the county roads and railroad tracks we had to negotiate yesterday on our trip from Wichita to Zenda (that is one for the Atlas). Great food at the old lumber yard and even enjoyed a red beer.

that video is from the movie Ford used to introduce the NEW FORD. It looks like the speed was increased a bit on that version, but they were doing 55 across the railroad ties. There was also a long scene of pulling up an extremely long grade without overheating...fwiw,jm

Jim, you are right. I do have a copy of the "New Ford". It is a great to look at all the very early engine features as they explain how each system works. It is a shame that the quality of that video (film) isn't better. I do wish that I had a copy on CD so that I could stop it and examine those early features.

On a different note, that camera had to be on a tripod for those takes when the Tudor is screeching by. Either that or they had a fearless cameraman. Perhaps they had that in mind to show that the Tudor was able to be handled at high speeds under trying conditions.

Great video.

I'll bet the driver's pucker string was so tight it would make diamonds from a lump of coal!

this video reminds me of the 6x6 timber I rolled over with both left wheels at 55 mph.

happened on I-20 in downtown Shreveport enroute to the 2008 National Meet. I was only about 50 feet away when I saw the timber, was in the center lane with cars on both sides of me, no time to do anything except let off the gas and hold on tight to the steering wheel while some terribly unpleasant outcomes raced through my brain for a few seconds.

our 31 Tudor took it in stride, it felt like the timber was only about an inch thick as we rolled over. very glad I had new Goodyear tires and freshly rebuilt John Holland shocks on the car........
