Default Walton 1929AA express - how many???

I have been watchin the waltons during these hot afternoons...I notice that they must have used morw than one express truck on the show...one truck does not have the rear view mirror bracket part no. AA 17745)...the other truck does and I enjoy seeing it when John walton or John boy stands with the door open talkin with it in front of them like it was a micrphone....can almost read the part number on it ....I notice one truck has two bolts on the side of the cab corners....I also like watching Jim Bob work on his 1929 roadster......gr88 show...I've had two express trucks and workin on an open express now...like the one in the pix

I have been watching them as well. Bought the first three seasons on DVD. I noticed the mirror or lack of the mirror too and thought that it may have gotten knocked off. I am not far enough along to see if it reappears later. I do know that my 8 year old daughter now has her heart set on a truck just like John's which makes Daddy very happy and Momma rather nervous because my daughter usually gets her way with me and even more so when I like the idea as much as she does!

I worked on The Walton's for years. The truck was rented from its owner when needed. The owned did change things now and then as most of us do to our vehicles. Just as John Walton Sr. would have done to his.

In general, open vehicles were cheaper when sold new. True for As and for AAs. Less material, less labor to put together. The lower-cost option for when you needed a car or truck. Now they are more rare, more sought after means more expensive.

Kind of a funny reversal.

I try to watch the Waltons every afternoon. it is one of my favorite shows. Wishing the networks would start another 1930's based TV show.
