Vulcan 1 cylinder head
Hello! Looking for some help picked this head up can’t find anything after searching. What’s the story on it? When was it made? What compression ratio? No hole for a stock distributor alignment pin. Could a stock distributor be made to fit? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Looks like it was cast to be able to add the distributor pin hole, just mark it and drill it.

You may have a hard time finding a gasket to fit. The stock distributor may not work because of the plug locations. Otherwise, I like it.

Re: Vulcan 1 cylinder head
Combustion chamber looks like a repo Winfield I have. Hard to tell the CR without ccing the chamber but it looks bigger than the 7-1 Winfield. Just a WA guess, somewhere around 6-1. Don't really need the distributor pin hole. Time it the regular way aligning the contact points then mark the pin location and drill.

The only way you will know what the cr is will be to “CC” the chambers. Anything else is nothing better than a guess

Most any Model A gasket will fit, place it on the head and see that the gasket doesn't hang out into the chamber. |

Re: Vulcan 1 cylinder head
Definitely looks "inspired by" the Winfield heads, down to the plug location and (eyeballing it) being threaded for 14mm plugs.
