Default How to buff

Please keep it simple for us not to paintingly bright
Got paint on door. Acrylic I never used. Actually havent painted squat in 30 yrs. That said (believe it or not) The door would have been ALL WELL ...EXCEPT for no booth meant 2 weee weee areas with inclusions. I think I wet sand to 1500. Then what kind of compound works and hopefully don't cost more than the door. I have a random for wax and a 7 inch grinder I could get a pad for

I was gonna show a pic but I guess the band width here is best suited for pics of sugar cubes

Don’t use a grinder to buff paint.
Don’t buff in one spot continuously.

Manufacturers now make and sell complete buffing system products to be used with a BUFFER and also recommended buffing wheels made of sponge. It's a lot different than the old days of just using a wool buffing wheel. You now can sand up to 2000 grit and then buff and then polish with special compunds. Visit a local automotive paint supplier and find out what's available. Do some research first. For instance.

Be sure to always be aware of the direction your buffing wheel is turning in relation to the edges and corners of your vehicle.

.

If you're still wondering, "BUFFERS" turn a lot slower than "GRINDERS". If that buffing wheel rotates TOO quickly, you BURN paint....and then the cuss words really begin to flow! DD

Mine, too! I've got a Makita with an infinite adjuster wheel. Works good! DD

I used to spread the compound out like wax and then buff that section but I just watched a video that showed to run a horizontal line of compound and then work from one end to the other dipping the buffer into the fresh compound instead of buffing dry compound. I have not tried it but it makes sense. Art
