I've used 2 gaskets with no problems, this on a Cyclone head. It resulted in 7.4:1 compression and cleared the pistons, which is why I did that.

When I first put the Winfield head, with no counter bore, on my engine, I had a standard head gasket, a solid copper gasket and the another standard gasket. I ran great for quite a while until the head cracked between the two center bolts.
