When I first got my 1929, although the transmission was noisy overall, you could barely hear when I put it into second gear. When I pulled the trans and took it apart, I had the same pile of various bearing rollers as well. I can't even figure out how it worked...

Wow what a mess! I had a bad ring and pinion (broken teeth) but it didn't look that bad.

Looks like the ring gear is ok, just weld that one tooth up and grind her down!
