Another newbie question. Ready to install new cam bearings, 1936 221ci. Does the big oil hole or small oil hole in the bearing , mate with the hole in the block?
Rear bearing only has 1 hole. Thanks in advance. |

I always mate the large hole to the hole in the block. It allows for a slight error incase the bearing isn't turned just right .

Just check so the pushrod for the fuelpump doesn´t hit the bearing.
On the regular sets i have you have 2 identical long bearings and a short one...not a different one for the rear position. |

My reasoning is that the majority of the pressure from the valve springs is pushing the cam DOWN - so I like as much bearing surface on the bottom as possible. Probably makes no real difference in that the oil pressure should "float" the cam, but I think this way anyway! LOL |
