Front and rear spring differences.

That tells me alot right there. I went out and measured my rear spring which I do have and as you said it would be. 2.25" wide.
I will check the width of this guys spring. Maybe he knows more than I have given him credit for. He just seemed a little vaque in his response in regards to my question of wether it was a front or rear spring.
So what is the length that I should be looking for as I would think that after so many years the spring may be dearched somewhat?

You must measure along the bottom leaf, Eye to eye does not work as you surmise as the springs sag or could be rearched. I will measure one later for you.
